Are you familiar with Rob Burbea? He has some similar takes (that I love), but otherwise he seems like he might fall into your notion of mainstream Buddhism (Sutra), and as your commentary on Tantra tickles my intuition bone, I'd love to hear your take on his!

The author says: "After a certain point, mindfulness doesn’t allow you to take responsibility for and analyse your feelings." Firstly, the author needs to learn the correct spelling of the word "analyse."
-
Secondly, if your approach to mindfulness is to observe your "thoughts and feelings in terms of clouds in the sky," you're definitely not going to get any insight into their nature.
