In the last sentence, you can substitute "physics" for "meta-rationality" and it's still true. It's rarely very explicitly taught as a skill. But the difference between a student and an experienced physicist on this is enormous.

I have the tendency to tip into “over-belief” or over bias towards a model. Eg using it where INappropriate. So I like to remind myself that I don’t really know a model until I know how and when it doesn’t apply. That itself is a model that works well for me but not everyone.
