There’s actually two parts to “improving” rationality. One is getting better at formal problem solving (which the book mentions but not in this excerpt). The other is better interfacing formalism with reality (which is the part that has to be done meta-rationally).

Interesting how
@nntaleb keeps saying the same thing (except more harshly. Much more harshly), but only now did I start thinking about why thinking about thinking about thinking gives people such trouble… -
The weird thing is that this shift in the way you perceive the meaning of certain thoughts about thinking, appears not to be just an idea and formal thougt + empirical testing; it's deeper, more like a shift in the way your brain operates.
