A bunch of body people I respect say the answer is no, this stuff is pathologies of modernity. They have lots of arguments for this; I'm not sure how good they are. Pix of non-Western / non-modern people are interesting, though!

Yup. Check out work by Erwan Le Corre, Frank Fromenich, and Ido Portal, who’ve tried to import and essentialize the hunter-gatherer way of life for Westerners. I find it inspiring
