Oh… I see… I think…
@Aella_Girl wants to interview people who’ve claimed to reach enlightenment; there’s thousands of those around the Bay Area, and many of them like to talk about it, so I expect & hope her project will go well.2 replies 0 retweets 7 likes -

Marin used to be full of enlightened people of the Boomer persuasion. I don't hear about them so much anymore. Probably most of them have taken rainbow body and dissolved into light. http://www.dawnoftruth.com/rainbow-body-meditation/ …

Mind blown--I think I don't know decade-past enlightenment-claim-taboo-dynamics. And, cf. your different metrics(/referents). I'm so skeptical that even 0.01% or less of claimants have made it past something in the neighborhood of "stream entry" but also so curious if I'm wrong.

Well… most of them didn’t seem very impressive to me. But most people who now talk about stream entry don’t either. And, there don’t seem to be any good ways of judging other people’s accomplishments (or probably even one’s own), so who knows?

I agree that impressive-seeming is not a terrible way to judge people. Re stream-entry, I'm sort of sympathetic to claimants. Good methods are so hard to find, and timelines can be so multidimensional, nonmonotonic and long. But "whole person accountability," yeah.
