I'm looking to do a project on 'enlightenment' and would like to interview people who've claimed to reach enlightenment (or any equivalent type stage). If you or anybody you know is interested please email me at aellasinbox@gmail.com!

Oh goodness. A college roommate decided to turn his body into light... by eating only Spirulina and dessert. (We put a nutritionist friend on speakerphone, and encouraged him to eat enough calories and take vitamin C against scurvy. He's still corporeal, as far I know!)

Sister of my first girlfriend did that. After a few months she turned green. (According to my girlfriend; I never met her, and reports of unusual phenomena are not always reliable.) Eventually recovered and was a practicing MD psychiatrist when I last heard.

Mind blown--I think I don't know decade-past enlightenment-claim-taboo-dynamics. And, cf. your different metrics(/referents). I'm so skeptical that even 0.01% or less of claimants have made it past something in the neighborhood of "stream entry" but also so curious if I'm wrong.

Well… most of them didn’t seem very impressive to me. But most people who now talk about stream entry don’t either. And, there don’t seem to be any good ways of judging other people’s accomplishments (or probably even one’s own), so who knows?

I'm very skeptical about eating non-enlightened meat... You are what you eat after all. I figure plants are safe because they literally eat light for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Water was tricky for me, but given it's transparency it seemed unlikely to creat le many blockages
