There's so much to be gained through the spread of checklists/established knowledge, but we tend to preference and reward innovation such that we massively under-invest in scaling what already works (see the work of @TheIHI in healthcare as a bright spot).
there was a big focus at the Informatics conference I went to in March on what they called "learning health systems" - basically: by what process do we create those checklists and keep them up to date? Also look for "clinical decision support" systems....
