I’m not a spiral dynamics expert, and don’t really buy the framework, but my understanding is that according to it green and orange actually do contradict. Yellow is not just combining them, or accepting both; you can’t do that.

see I think it's things like this "people who hold rationality as a religion", that make it hard to parse for specifically rationalists that you'd want to make the transition. I think this reads as outright insulting to them (not to me, I fully get the point you're making)

That point is well-taken, thank you! OTOH, “this is a silly religion” is a widespread assessment of LW rationalism, and I’d like to see that community take it more seriously instead of rejecting it unthinkingly.

If rationalism is something like “rationality is the pinnacle of understanding and all you need,” then rationalism has to be explicitly opposed in order to make metarationality visible.

All of that makes sense. (possibly worth noting: I'm not really familiar with Spiral Dynamics, so only know the colors based on your summary) You continue with your strategy and I'll go on with mine; time will tell which one of us ended up saving the world w/ metarationality. ;)
