Better ways of thinking, feeling, and acting—around problems of meaning and meaninglessness; self and society; ethics, purpose, and value.

Well this gets extremely complicated. Even a basic answer would stack up OTOHs six deep.
First cut: it is true that Dreyfus reads things into Heidegger that aren’t there. OTOH, he’s fairly up-front about how and where and why he’s doing that. Not as transparent as I would like, but I think the poster here overstates the case.
Depending on why Heidegger is of interest to a particular reader, Dreyfus’ distortions are less or more relevant.
If you want to understand Heidegger’s place in German philosophical history, BitW is not the right commentary. If you want to understand his relevance to cognitive science, it’s absolutely vital. (Haugeland’s book would be the alternative for that.)
If you want to understand implications for living life in 2019... Dreyfus is probably the best source, but maybe for his own insights rather Heidegger’s. H’s ideas about living were mostly repellent and factually mistaken, imo. Ymmv of course!
Poster here is emphasizing the aspects of H that come from Kierkegaard, which is where imo he went most wrong. K had important insight that mostly people just do what-one-does, which is often dysfunctional. But K’s recommended remedy (existentialism) was quite wrong.
Heidegger himself recognized this in his later work. Once he realized he didn’t have an answer after all, he stopped doing systematic philosophy, but did important work on specific topics (poetry, technology, environmentalism).
Disclaimer to all of the above: my knowledge of H was always amateurish, and I haven’t read anything in 25+ years, so don’t take my opinions seriously.
Haugeland’s book is easier than Dreyfus’, so if you get bogged down in BitW, it’s worth a try. He was a student of D’s, so his perspective is similar.
