"meta-rationality" is also better because in a way it better conveys the sense that it is something meta 'to' rationality, which i don't think "metarationality" adequately captures.

Usually words are hyphenated when unfamiliar, and then lose the hyphen over time as readers become familiar with them. I usually jump to stage two early, just to push the envelope.

It used to be "well being" then it became "well-being." I consistently write it as "wellbeing" since it's obviously headed there, and will read more naturally longer into the future, even if it's a bit unfamiliar now.

Compromise: you write it with hyphen and include a Javascript snippet that slowly shrinks and then grows the hyphens, giving your text a living, breathing quality.

If meta rationality is not the same as rationality, is it rationality that is not rational or is meta rationality irrational?

The 51/49 split confirms it's a tough choice. It's ugly with the hyphen, but easier to understand at first.
Meta[-]rationality: Do you prefer it with a hyphen, or no hyphen?
Would be interested to hear why you prefer which, also.
Thanks for your help!
