Metarationality by analogy to postmodernism. Also, the hyphenated version will look better at first, when the word is unfamiliar, and then age poorly.

Yup. So another option is to use the hyphenated version in brief introductory documents and unhyphenated in long form. Which has its own set of pros and cons…

I like the parsing assistance of the hyphen. Without the hyphen, I would make a mental pointer to the word and try to skip over the buchstabe salat (letter salad) whenever possible. My first impression or the word without the hyphen was something like "metara tio nality".

Only a slight preference for meta-rationality, because the middle of the word looks like soup without the hyphen

Grammar rules are a rational system, but it is also rational to consider what makes the reading of a word easier. Choosing which rational system to use in a specific circumstance is meta-rational.

No hyphen. Consider metaphysics, metaethics, etc.

If you will use the word more than 100 times, go without the hyphen. E.g. e-mail, inter-net.

Meta[-]rationality: Do you prefer it with a hyphen, or no hyphen?
Would be interested to hear why you prefer which, also.
Thanks for your help!
