TFW you've nearly finished an essay based on ideas you had two years ago, and then discover in your drafts folder a nearly-finished version written two years ago that you had completely forgotten existed because you were interrupted by a parental crisis just before finishing.

I am afraid that there are no limits to growth for my drafts folder. It’s only a year old...I’m sure it gets much worse.

That seems inevitable. OTOH, when I do get uninterrupted time to write, it’s an invaluable resource. OTOOH, its value depends in part on remembering what’s in it!
