@Meaningness do you have anything on 'paths in' to metarationality?
Seems to me that AI ought to help to get you there... cybernetics ought to help to get you there... architecture (thinking about Negroponte and 'architecture machine group'), perhaps art, perhaps ethics...

Sorry to be slow to reply—I lost track of this! All the things you mention, yes. I haven’t written anything very specific, and you’ve probably seen everything I have written. There’s supposed to be more in the Eggplant book, but it’s not a major theme there either. Future work!

Generically, one way or another, you need to first come to master systematic thinking; and then, through experience, to recognize its limitations. And then re-think how and why systematicity works (when it does).

So I think the longer version is messier than this - rational frame (embedded in life/practice/stage of life), breakdown... And each time either a new rational frame, or despair, or blind faith(/cargo cultism), or metarationality, or...

1) While it's certainly more common to have a breakdown (in a negative way) leading towards metarat. I think you can have positive experiences that do it as well. Although any breaking of perspective, even positive, comes with some (usually large) amount of unavoidable tension.

Yes! This is important! I want to find ways to help people make the transition though positive experiences of new possibilities opening, rather than negatives ones of a cherished way of being crashing in flames.
