Yes. It will be interesting to see what happens to the Tibetan religious community en masse as the oldest generation departs. Namkhai Norbu was for me the most interesting - due to his clear presentation of systems as method. Unlike others, his presentations were meta-systematic.

This has been my worry when researching Dzogchen retreats I want to go on. Like, I want a 'try before you buy' model and there aren't always talks available online for every teacher...

Well, I guess it’s important to know what you like. Then you can often pick up whether it’s worth going in person from a teacher’s book/s. For example: if it’s Sutra dressed up as Dzogchen, personally I’m not interested. That might suit others tho.
