I’ve had discussions like this often with friends, but when it’s professors talking this rawly about their personal lives in public, it seems different. It’s much easier to be an gay professor than it once was… possibly you could even be bi… but “don’t fit at all”? Brave.

I suspect direct experience of not fitting into social ontology makes nebulosity conceptually available for many people. If *I myself* am a boundary case for every category, then that is how the world must be…
