Yeah, some “social scientists” back in the 1980s claimed physics was purely self-referential, and that experiments were in effect cover stories for power-grabs that were actually settled by politics, not evidence. This is more true than it should be, but obviously not entirely.

sometimes it's not obvious what the truth is. So, Newton vs. Descartes, for example. It wasn't obvious that Descartes was wrong, and Newton right. The idea of "action at a distance" (Newton) struck materialists as absurd.
On the other hand, I know what you mean. It's not ENTIRELY untrue. It's just that it's probably better not mention it to the guys at infowars..
