That article was pretty shocking. Is it because the quest for enlightenment tends to a self-blinding to other aspects of our being? Is some practice merely mental athletics with no impact? If a lama teaching compassion practice ends up groping in a toilet, is the model flawed?

Yup! I suspect the best thing now would be for Shambhala International to refuse to allow any successor, and to morph into a loose association of semi-independent teachers. Not sure they’ve got the gumption to do that, though.
