we exist in the boundary between mathematics and science, which is exactly where this should appear. the boundary between mathematics and engineering is not as fertile for this to develop because they can construct reality and then complain about the users (ofc they shouldn't)
Yes! This is so true… and probably obvious to statisticians, but I only figured it out recently. I’ve made only slight use of statistics in my own quasi-scientific work, so I’m having to catch up now. I hope I can explain accurately why this is important & exciting.
