Ah, yes, it’s normal to find that uncomfortable for a while—sometimes even scary. It can help just to know that it’s to be expected. The freakout passes in time, you will get to enjoy emptiness, and in retrospect it’s valuable progress.

Well, that’s great, actually! I had that experience immediately… I’d been reading some Zen text that was total gibberish. First major experience of emptiness, then read the same text the next morning, and it was perfectly straightforward and obvious. I couldn’t stop laughing…
