Security feels comfortable confronting these types because they know this is the worst that will happen. They won't confront the real problems because they're afraid of getting killed.

Yep... easy to chase after some white girl stealing a pair of leggings than the organized gangs who clear out the entire Dior store at gunpoint. Saw it when I was working retail too.

What's funny is that it's possible that this security guard actually broke the law or could in theory face civil consequences depending on how she was approached. Unless someone witnessed the theft, she's generally under no obligation to consent to being stopped.
