Why is trending? China's outbreak was linked to a live fish market. If humanity keeps farming animals, pandemics and superbugs will continue. This is why people call meat made without animals "clean meat," cleaner figuratively and literally.

For some reason, did not think it relevant to mention, in this 'news' report, that Jim Power is the chief economist of Aviva Insurance. is proving to be very interesting, re: the role of the media.

another ban. not a tax. not a more humane kill system. a ban. most people have no idea what happens in industrial animal agriculture. as they learn, they become more open to bans. and sometimes bans are how they learn. this is why we gotta aim high!

So for Micheál Martin the National Interest was served by keeping Fine Gael in power. Voting through their budgets and supporting their failing ministers. Then attacks FG on housing etc 🤔.

despite what animal activists would have you believe, scientists are vigilant about harming and killing animals in research only when doing so is *absolutely necessary*. like when we *absolutely need* to know what makes hair change color a bit faster.

Is it fair that a significant section of this debate focuses on Sinn Fein yet that party do not have a right of reply as its leader was not invited to the debate?

  12. Hundreds of Millions of Migratory birds are killed each year by human-made glass structures. This horrible stat reminds me of the opening lines of Nabokov's Pale fire: "I was the shadow of the waxwing slain/ By the false azure of the windowpane..."

All parties should be included in debates, but if only big parties are going to be included, there is no basis to exclude SF. It smacks of an establishment trying to falsely portray this as a choice only between FF and FG when 50% of the electorate wants an alternative to them.

The audacity of Their Party Political Advertisment, broadcast on decrying all the policies that they voted for and firmly supported. Do they really think people are so stupid as to believe them?

A study has shown that African grey parrots can practice kindness to one another, by helping a fellow parrot get a food reward. This has often been thought of as being unique to humans, but research is exploring such behavior in other species, like bats.

Most recent opinion poll shows FF & FG polling at 27% each. Sinn Féin in third place on 20%. RTÉ are refusing to include Sinn Féin in the final debate. Yet, in 2011 RTÉ held a 3-way Election Debate between FG, Lab and FF who were polling at 37%, 20% and 16% respectively.

Fianna Fianna Fáil has supported all Fine Geal budgets and protected them on confidence motions for the last term. now proposing only their leaders for the debate. And that passes for Public service broadcasting.
