I knew 3 grad students in relationships with professors while I was at Princeton. It undoubtedly contributed to this uneasy sense that we were being evaluated as potential romantic partners rather than being trained up as colleagues.

There has to be some kind of a balance. One should not be able to work directly with one they're in a relationship with.
At the same time it would be unenforceable to forbid relationships.
Long hours working on the same thing, same adversities ... it can just happen.
