"My farm's records say there's less rain. You’ve got scientists telling you is happening. I'm a businessman and I like to manage my risk, and you're a bloody idiot if you're not listening to them." Mal Peters on the impact of climate change on the drought

Such cruelty. Family alone in detention. Only one parent allowed to attend the child's first day of school with armed guards. They're on a remote island, where is a four year old going to go?

50% reduction in emissions, 39% reduction in costs... and the hybrid plant will be running in under 24 months. Tell me again why this transition needs to take 20 years? Well done WA! 👊🏻

In just 100 years, fossil fuel use has more than undone 5000 years of natural cooling. It's hotter now than any time in the history of human civilisation. We are catapulting ourselves out of the Holocene into uncharted territory. Current life on Earth is not adapted to this.

My summer: Went to coast, it burned. Then, evacuated from Thredbo. Then, car and house very badly damaged by massive hail in Canberra. House now covered by tarpy (thank you SES!!). Now there is bushfire 5kms from home, 80kmh winds and a duststorm! How good is climate change!

Over three decades ago, Dr Tom Beer predicted bushfire conditions would worsen in Australia, due to climate change. His predictions were correct. It's time to listen to the scientists & urgently reduce greenhouse gas emissions or bushfire conditions will only continue to worsen.

“We all breathe the same air & we all suffer when carbon emissions rise and the planet warms. To put it simply, not another penny of UK taxpayers' money will be directly invested in digging up coal or burning it for electricity." ⁦

Completely correct - as the negotiator for Vanuatu through this process I can confirm the text of the Kainkai II declaration means that the Australian Government has committed to zero emissions by 2050. Already.

Devastating. We have lost so much of our precious natural heritage. We must have more resources for fire fighters to protect lives, property, infrastructure and crucial habitat and ecosystems.
