This seems pretty common. I've heard that and, from people bragging about negotiating at flea markets or wherever, that they "...Jewed him down." They don't seem to realize this is offensive.

At a wrestling match with a redneck school in the county, my high school wrestling team (90% Jewish public school in affluent Baltimore suburbs) was pelted with bagels. We also kicked their asses.

Discrimination’s everywhere, living in Hawaii I’ve been told many times to go back to where I came from. My grandpa was born on Kauai, but because I don’t talk pigeon & Im light skinned I’m presumed to be a haole, when I’m actually Latin & European. Racial ignorance is universal!

This is awe inspiring, full of pain & truth. So touching. I’ll keep posting these stories, for as many days as it takes. I’m here and I’m committed. Look how I’ve handled anonymous submissions. If you trust me, I’ll put your story out there. I’ve never seen anything like this.

Anon: “Two that come to mind I have been told..."stop being such a Jew"; "Maybe the Holocaust was for killing Jesus" neither person knew who they were speaking to a Jew. Not sure that would have mattered.”

The insults are very prevalent. Think about the origins of the words you use. The Romani people also deal with insults in this area a lot.

This thread floors me. I had no idea. I grew up in a city with a significant Jewish community. There was a temple just doen the street from our house. Our next door neighbors were Jewish. He was a wholesale candy salesman. Used to bring us candy canes “for your hanukkah bush.” 1/
