Tragically, yes. (But surely you dont want to suggest that this horrible chapter in American history justifies Russian intervention in our election?)https://twitter.com/julianorobertrj/status/965857292066349057 …

Not only has the U.S. meddled in other countries' elections, we have also had a central role in removing democratically elected leaders such as Iranian Prime Minister Muhammad Mossadegh. http://foreignpolicy.com/2017/06/20/64-years-later-cia-finally-releases-details-of-iranian-coup-iran-tehran-oil/ …

So far the extent of intervention has been social media posts, most of which were ridiculous. I really am failing to grasp the massive outrage here.

No but the horrible chapter in American history of U.S. putting aside democratic values in Ukraine in favor of proxy war LED to Russian intervention in our election

worst case its tit for tat....(assuming all the allegations abt these 13 russian individuals, with no proven link to the Kremlin, would be true). PS; read this pretty interesting background-article on the St.Petersburg “troll farm” http://thesaker.is/a-brief-history-of-the-kremlin-trolls/ …

“But surely you dont want to suggest that this horrible chapter in American history justifies Russian intervention in our election” That’s exactly what these “patriots” are suggesting. And soon they will try to justify trump’s participation in the conspiracy

If Putin is unhappy at US meddling, certainly the US had the right to be angry at Putin for the same reason.

Russia has attempted to interfere in US, German, French, Spanish and Ukrainian elections. Putin’s Russia can bring nothing but corruption, money laundering and mutter of rivals. No one needs that.

Before revolution kicked Lukashenko off of his gold toilet, Ukraine was the source of much corrupt money for Putin and the Oligarchs.

I'm not sure "chapter" is the right term to describe events that began at least by the mid-19th century and which, depending on your definition, are almost certainly occurring somewhere in the world right now.

Chapter implies brevity: In fact America's interference runs a century and takes many forms History implies it's finished: Yet we know it continues to this day Russian interference: I think Americans elect their own presidents. External accusations don't befit a great power
