Correct. Public education is funded through the states. The money comes from state and local taxes. How can Congress change educational systems, largely outside of their jurisdiction? Moreover, why would we want a federal Congress involved in state and local educational matters?

Thank you for your support! My neice was in Raleigh as you marched with teachers during her last student teaching year. I love how she is decorating her room! Teachers R underappreciated. They educate children & help shape what kind of adults they will grow up to be. People don't think about how much time children spend with their teachers. Teachers were an important part of my life. I loved them

I taught 34 years, underpaid & at retirement time told I can’t collect my social security because Reagan in the 80s took it away from teachers. So again teachers are underpaid in retirement.

So how do you propose to solve what is a local and state problem from DC? Federalize ALL public education? Nah perhaps this is just click bait and sensationalism. Maybe this first step in fixing public Ed is properly teaching civics again.
