    What a journey. Today is the day families fighting to stop make what they say are "unlawful" & "unfair" cuts to SEND budget are at the High Court. Eight months of campaigning and hard work has got them here

    This scandal of ATU costs, of endless restraints & lack of rights; it's not really all about the money, is it? It's really about out of sight, out of mind, sod the costs to lives or taxpayer pockets. Because we're paying a Ritz bill for quality of care Poundland would reject

    I've said it before, on here. I've held teachers in my arms who were crying. I've explained diagnosis to teachers whose own children were being diagnosed. If autism is a continuum, so is humanity.

    I'm 6'4" and built like the truck I drive My strength is nothing compared to hers. How she copes with the lack of life I don't know. I've had a weekend stuck in the house and garden-it's driven me to despair despite going out twice with the dogs Or is she just institutionalised?

    I heard her on the radio when you phoned her. She is so brave and remarkable. Most people would find a few hours of that seclusion and social deprivation scary. Good luck.

    I'm sorry, she may feel some of ur listed emotions, but there is no way Beth feels abandoned. We are her rock. We have always, always been with her. We've driven to Preston, Bury, Wales etc every weekend following her to placement after placement. WE WILL NEVER STOP.

    2/2 as well as for the poor child who must be frightened, confused, feeling abandoned and the impact of not having a dedicated team 24/7 will add to her sense of fear & lack of routine. Her presentation will reflect all these feelings and difficult understanding what’s happening

    She cannot even see the sky. I look at the sky each day for both of us. I look at the stars every night and ask them to twinkle at Beth.

    Has Bethany got access to fresh air or to an outside space from her seclusion or segregation suite? If so is she able to use it safely? It could be story boarded with her to encourage her to go out most days but it needs consistency of approach and a stable team that she trusts

    All in hand. 3 more exposès planned. I don't like it. But I will not see Beth's situation continue. I wouldn't be a fit parent if I did. Utterly regret not doing this before. But I trusted the 'professionals As Mulder and Scully said. TRUST NO-ONE

    I would have my child’s face plastered everywhere. If they dared place an injunction on me I would go very public with that also. They will want to protect their reputation and will hate any publicity. A huge can of worms has been opened up here. GET AS MUCH MEDIA INVOLVEMENT

    Absolutely disgusting treatment. I've been following this via Beth's dad on twitter. He is only allowed to speak to his daughter through a hatch. This is urgent, raw, degrading and soul destroying. Rights are not selective! Beth is a human being. Where is the dignity and respect?

    The tragedy of Beth, locked up like an animal for having autism - my ⁦⁩ column on cruelty and contempt towards people with learning disabilities
