Both of my grandfathers were sharecroppers. Neither of my parents even made it to high school yet both of their children have college degrees. I personally worked 2 and sometimes 3 jobs per semester to put myself through college. When did my white privilege begin again?

At birth, b/c neither of your parents worried about being lynched, beaten or arrested for trying to support their family & you were able to find 3 jobs/semester based solely on your ability and desire to work, w/o ever even considering the fact that you'd be denied for race.

It’s a poisonous, racist ideology. It challenges people to see race first and to classify groups by race. It prompts people to harbor deep enmity against accused oppressors, & it makes those so accused defensive & defiant. It’s slow acting but deadly poison.

The point is, everyone has a story, and we can’t judge off statistical factors associated with ethnicity. We need to keep training our society to look at people as individuals, not as representatives of a skin color. That’s where we find unity.

White privilege can be found in many answers here. All of the folk who grew up hard and had to work to get theirs are correct. It wasn't easy. But in their answer they also imply that PoC are lazy and only use the concept of white privilege to get over. Very frustrating.

Exactly. I may have had a hard life but, I'm very aware of how much worse it would have been if I'd been a POC. At least 1 time, I know if I'd been a POC I would have been killed. White privelege exists damnit!
