    Precisely and this is why even when you don't intend to use var in your code you still need to learn how it works. So much of JS code on the web still uses it.

    To add to this: var was the original JS syntax whereas let & const were introduced in ECMAScript 6 (ES6) specification in 2015. This is crucial to know because there are some JS code that were written prior to ES6 and still runs on IE.

    3.Redecleration Let variables cannot be redeclared. While var variables can be redeclared. This is only applicable when using strict mode. So example: var num = 1; var num = 2;

    function addTwo(){ for(var i=0; i < 5; i++){ } console.log(i+2); } Unlike with let, while using the var keyword, the variable i is available outside the for loop throughout the function. So the output is 7 (5+2) and not 'undefined'.
