Friend who had baby 2mo ago just did her first stroller run: enabled by obstacle-free Car Free JFK, incl breastfeeding breaks on the yellow adirondacks. She easily drove over from SE SF.
This is the best thing for SF families. Shout it from the rooftops!

The fact that most intersections in San Francisco aren't daylighted (having blocked space before a stop sign so pedestrians can be seen by cars) boggles the mind. We are putting subsidized car storage over people's actual bodies.

Related, just got this, which google tells me means there was a svc interruption on Stockholm ebikes & they proactively give you 30-90days extra on your pass. 👍!
ALSO “We want to facilitate cycling year round & therefore have switched to studded winter tires on our bikes.” 💯

No lie: I was a supporter of free transit fares until I asked my elected transit director about it and he listed the tradeoffs, like reduced service, fewer transit jobs, etc.

Walking this morning along Upper Market noticed the following; 1) cars going through red lights with so much ease, 2) bike lanes blocked by drivers getting their coffee, 3) two cars almost hit me while crossing towards Sanchez/15th (I had the ROW) , 4) no one going 20 mph… 🤡

I was almost hit by not one but two cars on this morning- one purposefully sped right next to me another almost clipped me from behind and yelled “get out of the road”. I don’t feel safe running in broad daylight due to lack of enforcement. Unacceptable

Nearly 3,000 people have been hit by a car in D9 since took office and at least 22 have been killed. She has done NOTHING to improve pedestrian/cyclist safety in the Mission & actively stands in the way of making Valencia the safe, vibrant corridor it yearns to be.
