Why can't Philly report more mail ballot results right now? Commissioners say it's an output issue in their reporting system. "We are just waiting for our machine totals from the in-person election today," said Deeley. "That has to happen first before we can add more numbers."
City Commissioner Al Schmidt said there are lagging in-person votes from West Philly — not uncommon in any election here. Once these are in (shortly), they can switch over and begin adding mail ballots to their output system to report.
