I hadn't actually looked at his other tweets. This is definitely hate speech and I hope it's taken seriously even though online threats and hate speech so often aren't.
Who's talking about ignoring it? I'm talking about denying a platform for hate speech.
While I understand why some may feel as though engaging the behaviour is giving them a platform, it's important to understand what hateful people are thinking and why; we can't fight hate without thoroughly understanding it.
They are brainwashed. Even professionals will struggle to deprogram them.
We have to at least try, and to be able to use the tools at our disposable (like the Bennett Scale) we need to understand them.
