The difference is that these people are white not POC. The police will attack non-violent protesters but not white thugs carrying weapons.
They are so hairy it is hard to tell.....oh, and they have their masks on! Wonder why!
I've seen a clip where they were pepper sprayed though. Something, though admittedly maybe not up to the level of tear gas and rubber bullets.
