The problem w/ charity.
I get a few requests to contribute to this or that.
But often 1 I am not sure if these are legitimate outfits or they are just after your credit card number.
And 2 when they seem legitimate, are you just paying for their bureaucracy.
Can this be solved?

Hi Branko, I think this has been solved recently.
The researchers at Givewell give you the answers to these (and other relevant) questions and identify extremely good charities. givewell.org

And if a website is not "legitimate" enough, have a look at the book "Doing Good Better" by William MacAskill for example
I want to like Give Well but they perpetuate the vertical, disease specific approach to health. Vit A is no help if you've got COVID and deworming is no use if you need stitches. Comprehensive public health for all!
