I am more ambivalent about Bolton’s departure than I had expected. In some ways he has been as bad as I feared—but in other ways he has been an important check on an impetuous president. If he is replaced by a yes man, the result could actuallly be worse.https://wapo.st/307r97f

I don’t know if there will be a downfall for him. There are no patriots or people of good conscience that will stop him. He has consolidated all the power. The republicans are totally on board with what he’s doing. The Dems are tragically inept.

In a way yes, but in a bigger way, no. trump’s law is that it always gets worse. Barr makes Sessions look a kitten in terms of corruption level. He is corrupt, he naturally attracts corrupt people. Literally no person who isn’t corrupt who work for him.

The result will almost certainly be worse. Has Trump named a single replacement cabinet or administration member who is more independent or less ideologically extreme than their predecessor? With this White House it's worse and then much worse.
