Another participant in the Chesa Boudin “restorative justice” program. Commits crimes and gets off easy with a public defender who doesn’t even bother filing any paperwork. Just gives him an apology and releases him to the wild to re-commit the same crimes over and over again.

What's the actual root cause here? It's not a DA who won't prosecute, it's not the drugs, it's that people WANT THE DRUGS and in today's society MONEY=POWER. Until those two things change people will find a way to make money selling drugs. /1

Drugs are a symptom of a much deeper disease; depression, despair and futility. What inspires a person to try something like meth, heroin or crack in the first place? Maybe it's because the other options they see look even worse. /2

There's not a legal system in the world that is equipped to address this. Violence creates violence and the legal system is a violent tool, it uses force to coerce people into socially acceptable behavior. /3

So what happens when socially acceptable behavior is so meaningless that 19.4 million adults in the US ALONE struggle with depression? A 112 year drug war that's done nothing to actually stop drug use.
