I can't believe what I just witnessed. LAPD just opened fire on peaceful protestors who were chanting "don't shoot" with their hands up on 3rd st in Hollywood. People are running and screaming. I've never seen anything like this in my whole life.pic.twitter.com/cHHKPsKjHV

Non lethal rounds.. I don’t think that’s quite synonymous with ‘opening fire’ as if it’s a massacre or something.

Less-than-lethal (aka pain-inducing weapons) still hurts as hell and people might actually die in some circumstances, I never understood why it's so rare for American police to have water cannons instead of going straight to violence.

They had no reason to open fire like that. Rubber bullets or not. From what i see everyone has their hands up and are clearly saying "hands up don't shoot." If it was a peaceful protest with no violence, why use any force at all? You can even see there r people not even....

On peaceful protesters. That is ridiculous. How could you even think that was okay. 90% of the protests I've seen happening today were completely peaceful UNTIL the cops showed up.
