first time a presidential candidate has written their own ad copy?
Quote Tweet
This ad rules because it’s a bafflingly petty attack nobody besides Trump cares about which is why you know he’s personally demanding that they make it

imagine how aggro you have to be to be a "famously aggressive" entertainment lawyer
Quote Tweet
I'm told that both Tucker Carlson AND Don Lemon have retained the famously aggressive entertainment lawyer Bryan Freedman. I have reached out to Freedman; no response yet.

i can't say i'm a student of tucker's ouevre but on a tiktok clip of his appearance on the nelk boys' full send podcast he just straight up asserted epstein was mudered, nothing wrong with that per se, but it does show where his head was at

Here's a rare photo of Tucker Carlson meeting Jerry Garcia.
And here's the story behind it:

Oddly specific update

Kings guard De'Aaron Fox fractured the very tip of his left index finger in Game 4, but there's still hope he will try and play Game 5 on Tuesday, sources tell ESPN. Fox would need to play with a protective covering on the finger. He will be listed as doubtful.

the shale revolution is still the most underrated even of the 21st century, we barely understand the effects it had on the US economy, let alone climate, geopolitics, etc

I had to regain sensation in my body before getting back on Twitter. I've been at @BuzzFeedNews for 8 years, so it's a shock to the system to see it go. My DMs are open if you're hiring. Mostly I just want to create a space to thank everyone who gave me a shot since 2015

Defining the Green New Deal should always be left to the idea's pioneer, Tom Friedman, who coined it in 2007, rather than johnny-come-latelys like AOC or Sunrise

one issue with evaluating the IRA compared to a "green new deal" is that no one has really made up their mind what a conceptual "green new deal" is, nevermind that the nature of the actual new deal is itself still heavily debated

and then we have to ask the question is to what extent the new deal and war years are part of a continuous economic policy, and how much of the promise of the new deal ended up being delivered during world war ii and what *that* means for climate policy etc etc

the "green new deal" framing was so powerful that it developed a kind of cargo cult, look at how much advocacy time and energy was spent on the civilian climate corps

this of course goes back to the nature of the new deal itself, was it a policy of welfare state expansion, public employment and public provision, or was it the Roosevelt administration teaming up with chosen capitalists to implement developmentalist policy
