Actually, God did make the law of marriage...between a man and a woman, no less. Marriage is otherwise completely meaningless.

That is vaguely sensible if you think the only goal of marriage is a) to please your god or b) to procreate. Thankfully neither is true.

c) Thankfully, both are true! But, most people don't respect marriage vows anymore and/or don't marry at all. Sad on both fronts.

I’m pretty far to the left. Christianity is stupid and bad for you and full of people who ignore its tenants, but it has a right to exist

If Christianity ignored it's tenants, there'd be no one at the churches to follow its tenets.
