Listened to an interview with the father. He says the mother used to lock the boy in his room and tell him there's a monster who only eats little boys. At three, she started dressing him like a girl. Would withhold affection if he wasn't dressed like a girl.

How did A JURY rule against him?! That’s the part that gets me. Everyone knows there are cuckoo judges here and there but 11 OUT OF 12 PEOPLE AGREE WITH THE MOTHER 
That may depend on what information they were given how the judge instructed them, and what attorneys for both parties argued the case.
Just listening to the father, you are only getting one side of the story. If the mother is abusive, then she should be stopped. But I have no reason to merely believe the father. Family custody issues are always volatile. Lies abound. I want to see what evidence the jury heard.
Did these details about the Mother’s bias towards the boy being a girl come out in the trial? Was there there a attorney representing the boy’s interest and also psychologically testing if all parties done? This makes no sense.
