How can anyone actually prefer living in a crowded city over a more rural area with open space, green grass, trees, privacy, and quiet? I mean do you really need to have 98 stores within walking distance? Is proximity to retail really the most important thing? I don’t get it.

It's also important to get as far away from the left wing socialists as possible.

Some people like the bustle of more people. Proximity to their workplace is necessary. The general vibe and more things to do is an appeal. It just depends who you are and what you like. :-) Fun question, have a good one, Walsh.

With the increase of Amazon and retailers such as that will we see an increase of people moving to more rural areas?

Same. Cities are great at 26 and single, over 40 with kids, ick. Very happy to have moved back to my family’s small rural farm.

The difference in worldview between urban liberals and rural conservatives is a big factor.

Simple. Crowded cities provide easy, anonymous, unaccountable access to whatever sin you want to engage in.

I see advantages in both. I grew up in a small town and I visit NYC and other cities all the time. Within NYC, there are neighborhoods with their own unique identities and offerings. Some areas of Central Park can make you forget you're in NYC.
