By the way, one of the only real advantages to having a pet is that you can give it whatever crazy name you want. But children are not pets. They deserve regular human names.

We named our dog after a bourbon distillery. It was either that or pick a random obscure Civil War general. I kind of wish we had gone the latter route. It would be cool to have a dog named Cadmus Wilcox or Edward R.S. Canby.

I've worked in the criminal justice system for almost 30 years. I've found that felons have a higher percentage of bad/joke names than the regular public. It's a huge disservice to your kids to name them something stupid.
