From the atheistic view, religion is an "opium of the people" -- something we invented in order to cope with the unbearable agony of living short and ultimately pointless lives. Why try to deprive people of this placebo? I can only see two possible explanations:
1) You are miserable and in despair, and you want others to feel the same as you. 2) You don't really completely believe what you say you believe. You believe that life has some transcendent purpose and meaning, and you believe religion interferes with it.
If the first is the case, you are just a cruel and horrible person. If the second is the case, you are not really an atheist. I'm not sure I can see any third explanation aside from these.

Do you think most atheists are trying to convert people? Are people not allowed to just share their point of view without being accused of having some kind of motive? Are only Christians allowed to share or try and persuade people to their side?
Or we think that life has meaning without God.
Wow they really got you didn't they? Religion is a cancer that stops you enjoying life, you have it completely the wrong way round. As a lifelong Atheist, I can make free choices all day every day without running them by an imaginary friend Can you imagine how free that must feel
The reason for what you describe as 'evangelical Atheism' is a response to the endless barrage of religion that is thrust on us. Not to mention the continuous conflict and war caused by religion on a daily basis. Without religion there would be no Atheists.
Or, or, tired of religion ruining countless lives for thousands of years. Theists just want peoples lives ruined because they cant accept reality and need their placebo no matter the cost to fellow humans. But you can only fathom two possibilities. Or you're lying.
