Exactly the point. One side can't claim this year is proof if the other side has 1886 as counter proof. It's about long-term trends.

Don't forgot the Galveston hurricane in 1900...8000 killed, the Okeechobee in 1928-2500 killed. The climate changes! Then it changed back!!
