I think we need to extend moral requirements to men equally sharing the family work not deny men parental leave. Shame men who do not do their share of childrearing.

What's "gender-neutral tenure clock stopping policy"?
-
When hired to a tenure-track (but not yet tenured) position, there's a set date for deciding whether a prof gets tenure; usually 6-7 years after hire. Many schools allow a delay of this date (usually 6-12 months) if the prof has a child.

I'll never understand why people portray women being more willing to give up their careers to parent as some sort of unfair treatment.

This phrase is hitting me wrong. I know what it is trying to say, but as long as we’re using the term “inability,” maybe it’s also “the inability of the outdated work model to survive the presence of young families.”pic.twitter.com/nu0VpSxt0x

Gated, but what happens if limited to just last 5 years of data set? Parenting roles have changed drastically since the 80s and the men I know and work with are definitely true partners who are using their leave to parent, not publish.

Ungated earlier version: http://ftp.iza.org/dp9904.pdf Data only goes to 2005, but recent publishing gap trends up to then don’t seem to be improving
