The president wanting to quadruple the price you pay to ship packages because he thinks, probably incorrectly, that it will damage the business interest of the guy who owns a newspaper he doesn't like seems like it should be a bigger story.

Absolutely. I run a couple small e-commerce businesses and many customers expect shipping to be free or very cheap. Imagine telling somebody what used to ship for $4 will now cost $15? It will literally sink one of my businesses. Shipping would be more expensive than the product
