I thought Blade Runner 2049 was great & I thought it would have been even better without the unnecessary prostitution & V.R. P.A. storylines
This mordant postscript on their "relationship" makes it seem meaningful only as grim proof of the futility of an imitation of real love.

Don't get me wrong: I'm not saying the sex scene was a good choice. Only that I can imagine what sort of reasoning might have led to it.

My real and profound complaint with 2049 remains the same: the story simply had no female lead. Hard to think of a good film without one.
