Also, why aren't the best game designers actively involved in curriculum design? They have miserable kids, too. And they're superb teachers.
And this is no accident: the practice of an art must be learned by imitating its practitioners, because no one can explain how it's done.

If you and your students aren't grappling with these issues, then you're not engaged in teaching and learning an art.

That's important. But it has rather little to do with art. It enables artistic practice, but does very little to stimulate or inform it.
