Taught 8 yo about F = ma by showing how a soccer player could run faster if he lost weight. That really brought it home.
But perhaps the most interesting point is that the first law makes sense only once the principles of projective geometry do.

One must know how to distinguish "straight" lines from all other curves determined by any two (infinitesimally) nearby constituent points.
