@WriterobinRS Ms. Swicord, may I ask why films are so often adapted from novels, and so seldom from short stories, which fit so much better?
@WriterobinRS 2 hours just isn't long enough to tell a story that takes 14 hours to read aloud; compression by a factor of 7 is amputation.

@WriterobinRS In the classic telling by the Brothers Grimm, Sleeping Beauty runs to about 1300 words. Pride and Prejudice is 75 times bigger
